Oh Ottawa
The past few days have had some ups and downs. Mostly “ups” which is always a bonus. Things have been busy and this week is going to be even busier.
I was in Ottawa for a few days with a group of International Students that I work with. A group of – talkative, laughing and singing on a 7 hour bus ride – teenagers. Needless to say it made for an adventerous, unbearably hot and humid, fun few days.
One night we went to Parliament to watch a light and sound show. It was something I had never seen before and something I will always remember!
We spent a day doing this:
No, not looking like a goof, although that may be what it seems. We went white water rafting down the Ottawa river for a morning. It wasn’t too intense but it was still fun for the kids. I was a little nervous since I had two kids in my raft that do not know how to swim. I may have said a few prayers to please keep them in the raft but I’m happy to report that we all came out in one piece.

I made sure to wake up early and get a run in on the hotel treadmill. After sitting for such a long period of time on the bus, I had to get my legs moving. I ran hard for a good 40 minutes and felt great afterwards.
I was already looking forward to my run the next morning and set my alarm extra early… but guess what? Apparently, I was to tired and slept right through my alarm. I woke up frusterated for missing my workout but shook it off and knew there would always be the next day. Sometimes we just need to go with the flow, right?
I am just happy and greatful to be active when I have the chance and always try to make time for it. Sure, there are days (ahem, Monday) when I’m too tired to go but that’s okay. Since I’ve been home, I’ve had the chance to get a few good runs in and it feels GREAT.

oh that looks like the fun! and glad you got the extra sleep. One workout skipped is no harm, youre right!
;)
LOVE the guide getting blasted up in the back! – been there, done that, and your crew doesn’t know it the whole time. ;) Looks like you’ve had some fun moments and good experiences this summer…glad to hear it.
What a great reminder, Sabrina! Just to enjoy each run as it comes – no pressure, just being grateful for the moment and listening to your body (I slept through my alarm/a run this week too!) as you go…Sounds like you’re really doing that. :)
